Open Water Diver Course

The Open water diver course is a three day diving package and is designed for absolute beginners who wish to gain their open water diver licence. The package includes all materials and equipment required for the course, and comprises a theoretical section, practice and training in the swimming pool followed by four ocean dives in total. The first two dives are to a maximum depth of 12 metres whilst the second two dives are to a maximum of 18 metres, which is recognised worldwide as the certification depth for open water divers.
We offer the open water course in small groups, with four people maximum per instructor, and will bring you to four different dive sites as part of the training. We have an international team of instructors and can offer the course in French, Dutch, German, Spanish, Swedish, Norwegian and Indonesian as well as English. On the dives you will be immersed in tropical crystal clear waters surrounded by colourful fish where you will see a myriad of marine life including big green sea turtles which the Gili islands are famous for. We offer a friendly and personalised service with an intimate family like atmosphere where divers all get to know each other and leave ad friends. We offer free drinking water and refills on board our boat as well as at the dive centre and have free tea and coffee facilities at office reception. We can tailor the schedule to your needs and travel plans and will print your dive card on site so that you can continue your diving adventures on the remainder of your travels.

Advanced Adventurer Course

The Advanced Adventurer program is a two or three day course all about improving your skills and abilities in the ocean. Unlike the open water training, there is no pool exercises, no exam and only a small portion of theory. This course is dive dive dive!!! The course consists of five ocean dives in total and enables you to dive to a maximum depth of 30 metres. There are many options to choose from when taking the five dives and the course can be tailored to suit your needs and interests. Most people like to take a Deep dive to 30m as part of the course. There are several great deep dive sites here around the Gili's so this is always a highlight. Spotting sharks at Shark Point, swimming between the deep canyons of Deep Turbo, drifting along the canyons of Deep Halik in a current or exploring the beautiful coral reefs of Secret Reef to name just a few. Another popular option is the Perfect Buoyancy dive. This dive focuses on your breathing techniques, kicking styles, ability to move, turn, reverse and how to manoeuvre in small spaces. It is an excellent dive where the skills you will practice will benefit you in all future dives, improving your streamline and increasing the length of your dive times int he process. Underwater navigation is also a popular choice on the advanced training, particularly if you feel you may in future be diving without a qualified guide. This dive focuses on compass navigation, natural navigation with reefs and landscapes, navigating in currents etc. It should build your feeling of confidence and competence as a diver. Another popular choice is the Wreck dive. Here in Gili we have a couple of options for wreck diving. One wreck dive is situated close to Shark point and is also a deep dive, whilst we also have a nice easy shallow wreck dive at only 18m deep if conditions at the deeper wreck were unsuitable. Night dives around the Gili's are fantastic so this is another great option for the advanced course. You will find mostly smaller critters on the night dives and some lesser spotted things like spanish dancers, pipefish and hermit crabs. Around the Gili's two other suitable dive options could be Fish Identification or Current Diving as there is such an abundance of colourful marine life here and usually some current on the dives, so its a great place to learn drift diving skills like negative entries or hpw to put up a surface marker buoy. Both these dives can be done deep or shallow and so can help build up your diving experience to depth. Other options include Underwater Photography & Videography, Search & Recovery and Enriched Air Nitrox diving so there really is something to suit all interests.

Try Diving

The "Try Dive" program is an experience for absolute beginners who wish to try diving for the first time but who do not wish to gain a certification. It is ideal for those on a small budget or with limited time as it only takes about four hours to complete.
This program consists of a watching a short movie introducing the basics of diving, followed by a lesson with the instructor who explains all about the equipment and some skills to practice before going to the ocean. The instructor will bring participants into the swimming pool to allow time to get comfortable and familiar with the equipment, practice some skills and exercises which are required for the ocean so we usually allow one to one and half hours for the pool training session. Once the participants feel comfortable with the equipment and the skills, we go out on our dive boat and explore one of the many dive sites around the Gili Islands. There is an abundance of marine life to be found on the introduction dive including sea turtles, clownfish, moray eels, lionfish, angelfish, batfish, sweetlips and possibly even reef sharks or manta rays. The maximum depth for this dive is 12 metres.

Refresher Program

This program is designed for those who have already gained a diving certification but who haven't dived in a significant period of time. It consists of a pool training session to practice all the dive skills learned on the open water training followed by a fun dive in the ocean. The program takes approximately four hours in total to complete. It is an ideal program to help those who may have lost confidence in their diving abilities or for those who feel they have forgotten what they learned when taking the course. The fun dive can visit one of many beautiful dive sites around the Gili islands where you will find reef sharks, turtles and an array of tropical marine fish.

Fun Dive

Fun dives are offered three times per day six days a week (Saturday-Thursday) and twice per day every Friday. Each fun dive trip is approximately 1.5 hours long with all dive sites less than a fifteen minute boat ride from the dive centre. There are approximately fifteen dive sites upon which we dive regularly and most are suitable for all levels of divers. There are some great deep dives for the more experienced divers at spots like Shark Point, Deep Turbo, Secret Reef and Deep Halik where sightings of reef sharks are common and Eagle rays and Manta rays are found from time to time. Whilst for the more novice diver sites like Turtle Heaven and Sunset Reef have an abundance of turtles and reef sharks respectively.
All dives are drift dives as there is usually a mild current on all dives so divers just glide along with the current for the dive, then the boat collects you at the end of the dive site. We limit our groups size to maximum four guests per dive for the fun dives and do not mix open water divers with more experienced divers in the groups.

Package of Three Fun Dives

We offer a package of three dives which can be taken all on one day or indeed over the course of two or three days. For the package we will take you to three different dive sites, and you can choose which dive sites you prefer to visit and at which times. We vary our dive sites daily so that those who are diving over a longer period get to see a good variety of dive sites during their time diving with us. Groups are limited to maximum four divers per guide and open water divers are separated from more experienced divers, giving the ultimate experience for all divers.

Package of Five Fun Dives

A package of five dives is a popular choice for the avid diver who wishes to see a good variety of the dive sites on offer around the Gili islands. This package can be taken over two, three four or even five days and is very flexible. Divers can choose any combination of the dive times and dive sites on offer. There is a great variety of sites to choose from and an amazing variety of marine life to be found around the Gili islands. From reef sharks, turtles and beautiful colourful reef fish to macro like pipefish, frogfish and leafish there is definitely something for everyone. All dives are guided drift dives with one of our experienced staff and groups are limited to maximum four guests per guide. Groups are based on certification and experience levels so that all divers can maximise their dive times.
