Marriot Wreck

Shoal Big Fishes Wreck
An unidentified wreck that was found along the Mirbat coastline. No-one knows of its origins or how it came to become a wreck but what we do know is that the former steam-powered ship is a fantastic dive site. The wreck itself is nicely scattered over an 80m stretch in a North-South direction, making it very easy to navigate. The site itself is home to a myriad of fish species who use the wreck as protection from predators including large honeycombed moray eels, a variety of puffer fish, stonefish and some of the largest parrot fish found in Oman. For the keen wreck explorers, you can still see intact steam engines and chimneys, huge pistons used to power the vessel and large propellers.
