1st land-based dive center in Santa Catalina, Panama

In 2003 Scuba Coiba became the first land-based dive center to open in Santa Catalina and made diving at the history-rich, UNESCO World Heritage Site of Coiba National Park possible for the first time. Located in the Gulf of Chiriqui on Panama’s Pacific coast, Scuba Coiba provides easy and fast access to the world-class dive sites of Coiba National Park. Diving around Coiba, as well as around the islands closer to Santa Catalina, is best characterized as diving in pristine, almost unexplored waters, teeming with fish.

Santa Catalina can only be reached by newly paved roads till nos (Jul 2012) and it takes about 5 hours from Panama City and 3 1/2 hours from David. A big parking lot beside our dive center is available. Buses take a bit longer, no scheduled flights till now.

Santa Catalilna offers a range of hostals and hotels as well as a couple of restaurants with local and international cuisine.

We offer daily full day diving trips to Coiba with 2 or 3 dives, as well as half day dive trips to local sites around Sta. Catalina. Our speciality are multi day trips with overnight stay and full board at Coiba ranger station for experienced divers. In addition to this we also help you organize combinations of diving and eco adventures (kayaking, bird watching,...), cater to snorkellers and offer PADI diving programs.
