Dive Yapak

Big Fishes Sharks Wall

Yapak 1 and 2 are actually two separate walls which begin at 30 meters and drop down to 70 meters. The most famous of Boracay’s dive sites, close encounters with white tip and grey reef sharks, dogtooth tuna, groupers, napoleon wrasses and giant trevallies are common. Surface conditions can be rough, and therefore a negative entry is often required, followed by a spectacular blue-water descent. Probably the best dive site but for advanced divers only (depth, current).

Yapak 1 At the beginning of the wall you get plenty of fish, drifting along the wall sharks and maybe big rays can be spotted. there is a nice swim through max. depth 40m so you should not be just advanced diver you should be experienced and very comfortable in the water. if you get strong current(going to high tide) you can actually drift from yapak 1 to yapak 2 but only if you are on nitrox and good on air. Yapak 2 Probably the better choice you will get plenty of fish. big groups of blue triggerfish, schooling banner fish, fusiliers are always there. the wall starts on 30-32meter so to go on nitrox is a big advantage. on air it will be impossible to see the whole wall. that means your chances to see sharks are also quite limited. a divesite for experienced divers only. there is no reference line and it can be quite rough.

This is one of the place that I dove before. I consider one of the best dive site in the philippines. The soft corals are amazing, visibility up to 30 m. aquatic life is so diverse from macro to school of fishes.
