Bodega de Tchoko
Boavista, Cape Verde Islands
Shoal Reef
Bodega de Tchoco is our youngest spot. We were looking for a dive site suitable for student divers as well as for divers of all levels and were quite surprised to find it right outside the Dive Center at RIU Touareg. With a maximum depth of 14 metres and a sandy bottom this spot is ideal for relaxed afternoon dives. Besides sleeping nurse sharks and big sting rays “Tchoco” also offers huge schools of fish like sea breams or big eyes that hang relaxed under and above the beautiful overhangs which you find to both sides of the mooring line. Photographers might find the big rocks along the reef edge most interesting as they are shelter for moray eels, porcupine fish, cuttlefish, lobsters, spider crabs and nudibranchs. Keep your eyes open and you might be lucky to find a frog fish, too. Don’t be surprised if a nosy Amberjack joins you for the safety stop.
