Dive Punta Manglar

Reef

Named for a hotel that’s no longer there, this reef is home to thousands of damselfish, mostly in the 5-7m range. Large and varied coral formations slope from 7-18m, then flatten out and gradually turn to sand. Pufferfish, yellow/southern stingrays, and morays are commonly found here, as well as eagle rays and nurse sharks at night. There is lots to see here, if you take it slowly. Surface well away from the point or right beside your boat, as water taxis from the mainland travel through this area regularly and move very quickly.
