Dive Mulaku Kandu

Reef Wall

40 minutes south of Vattaru, the first kandu of Mulaku atoll and that's where the name comes from.
The channel is narrow and lies at 25m, but is possible to cross it if current is not too strong. However the best dives are with strong currents, both ingoing or outgoing. The bottom of the entrance is sand and some stingrays stay there, along with white tip sharks.
In the entrance grey reef sharks can gather, tuna and great barracuda. For the early morning, sometimes hammerheads can be seen.
Inside the channel along the wall many turtles can be seen as well.
With incoming current, the best is start on any of the corners and drift your way until a no-decompression time, or running low on air.
