Diving in Puerto Aventuras

Diving can be booked from your hotel.  Most of the trips are to Tortugas Reef in Playa del Carmen, just 10 minutes away by boat. Puerto Aventuras is also very, very close to the largest fresh water system of the world: the Cenotes, which you can visit on a dive trip.  Fatima Bay is the safest beach on the Caribbean coast making this a great place for families to enjoy a wonderful holiday.  Other bays include Chan Yu Yum and Chac Hal Al.

Travel to Puerto Aventuras

This private gated community is located 20 minutes south of Playa del Carmen, or 30 minutes north of Tulum, in the heart of the Riviera Maya.  Here you will find a magical blend of lush tropical beauty with an easy going yet sophisticated life style.

Puerto Aventuras is easily accessible by colectivo that will stop along the highway for you, or hire a car and get there at your own pace.  Private transport is also available.

If you’re looking for a luxury vacation then you’re going to find it here, with accommodation from 5 star resorts to estate houses right on the beach with maid service included.  You can also visit for a day and enjoy the wonderful snorkelling on offer in the bays.

You can enjoy activities such as golf or tennis, fishing, sailing, diving or snorkelling.  You can find great shopping here but be aware that everything is more expensive than in the major towns. There’s a small museum to explore with artefacts from ships wrecked in the area and also pieces from Xel-Ha.  Most of the Riviera Maya attractions are easily accessible from here including Xcaret, Xel Ha, Tulum, Coba and Chichen Itza Ruins.

You might be tempted to swim with the dolphins here, but us being divers and  keeping in mind all about marine conservation and seeing these poor animals in captivity having to put up with hundreds of people a day touching them, we ask you to think twice about supporting such activities.  There are many other places in the world to see them in the wild, without having to touch or ride them, as this is very stressful for the animal.
