The Million Hope was a Bulk Cargo Carrier of 16,339 GRT built at Koyo Dockyard, Mihara-Hiroshima, Japan.
Originally named the Ryusei Maru upon her being launched on 10 June 1972, she was 174.6 meters in length,24.9 meters in beam, and 10 meters in draught, with twin 6-cylinder diesel engines and a single shaft for a speed of 17 knots.
Million Hope
On her final voyage the vessel set sail from Aqaba on 19 June 1996 bound for Taiwan with a cargo of potash and phosphates.
On 20 June the vessel was approaching the Strait of Tiran when a fire broke out and raged through the superstructure. Out of control, the ship went headfirst into a reef near Nabq, seven miles north of Sharm El Sheikh
Million Hope
Dive The Million Hope Wreck is for sure an amazing adventure, but is also a great snorkeling site for Non-Divers friends, they can clearly watch the wreck during their snorkeling time.
It forbidden, by a local law, reach the Million Hope area through a normal daily diving boat.
The only way to dive the Million Hope Wreck is to reach the site through a speed boat.
There are very few diving centers at Red Sea providing this service, our center is one of them.
