Dive Katherine Shipwreck

Wreck

An old Canadian minesweeper which was sunk by purpose in order to create and underwater artificial reef and at the same time attraction for divers. The wreck can be explored both from outside and inside; is encrusted in corals, plenty of sponges, squirrelfish, bluehead wrasses, hamlets, grunts and schools of fishes. Dive spot recommended for experienced divers.

Went on a sunny clear warm water day- from the time we made our decent you could see Her- simply AMAZING! Lots of vibrant coral and marine life. It was me and my girlfriends 1st wreck dive and one we will remember always.

This was our first open water dive as part of the DSD from Sandals Ochi Beach Dive shop. Unfortunately, it was a week of wind, clouds and rain which turned the water murky. It was just thrilling to be breathing deep underwater so the lack of light was less of an issue.
