You drop in just on the outside corner and drop straight down to around 32m. At first look it's like a barren landscape but the current soon brings you amongst the Grey Reef sharks that are prolific - shark soup. The ride in the incoming current is fantastic/exhilarating. There's a natural ridge where you can hook in and wait for the main action - Mantas that hang overhead to get cleaned and (in January especially) big squadrons of Eagle rays with babies that usually means a sneaky great hammerhead. Once unhooked and heading into the lagoon be prepared for mantas feeding and barrel rolling on your safety stop. Be prepared to have the sound, if not sight, of Dolphins too. I've done many dives around the world but Rangiroa to start of a Tuamotu trip ranks as probably the best for exhilaration for me.
