Travel to Moalboal

Malboal

Moalboal is a small town on the west coast of Cebu island and is about 90km and two and a half hours drive from Cebu City. The reason that most divers come to the area is to dive in Isla Pescador and a number of other excellent dive sites. Most of the resorts and dive centres are located along a strip of coastline called Panagsama Beach which is actually about a 3km from Moalboal. Panagsama was originally a small fishing village and has now developed into a tourism destination.

The actual beach is quite limited in size and few parts of it are sandy, the majority of dive shops and resorts are situated just above the beach and have a walkway down to the dive boats. Evenings are livelier than in some other resort areas with a number of bars and restaurants staying open until the small hours. There is also a wide choice of food available with many different global cuisines represented by various establishments.

For those wishing to lie on the beach and do some earnest sunbathing, White Beach is only 10 minutes away by trike from Panagsama. There are also numerous activities available apart from diving, for example you can try canyoning, rafting, trekking and mountain biking.

The mixture of visiting divers, expatriates and of course the local community make Moalboal a very friendly place to spend time.

Moalboal is easily reached by road from Cebu and there is then a short journey by trike to Panagsama Beach.
