Shark island is not known for sharks but being called this people tend to get the wrong impression. The diving itself can be great or mediocre, depending on how you like to dive. If your lucky you can see a turtles or two, ive seen two black tips on the very small side but debatable it’s the same fellow. It offers a brilliant multi-level dive and normally on the north you will come across a large school of barra. Definitely not for the novice, the current can be brutal and when it is, always pushes you further out into the blue. Mixed with the viz also being atrocious it makes for some great challenging diving if your experienced and with some mates.

When we jumped in, the visibility was terrible, there was 5 dive masters in our group and we could hardly keep ourselves together. But then all of a sudden, we went a little shallower and it was the clearest water I have ever seen! It felt like we were swimming in air! It was absolutely amazing! Definitely recommend going.

Shark Island is ok but do not expect to dive with sharks... Koh tao is definitely dying because of the hue amount of divers theses past years... but still nice for a OW course or discovering scuba diving

Shallow dive site, full of fish, when the visi is good, be ready for a dive, you will never forget, Dive around the island and during high tide, you can cross on the middle of the two island :) Barracuda, trivaly, butterfly fish, blue spot sting ray..........
