Smiths Rock is often frequented by the large species of marine life. Often prone to currents is best dived at slack water. This site has great potential for exploration with caves and swim-throughs which are alive with crayfish. Smith Rock is notorious as a shipping hazard claiming ships as they attempt to navigate around Cape Moreton.

Big granite rocks covered with sponges and corals. Saw eagle rays, turtles, white tips sharks, napoleons, octopus...Good spot to meet whale sharks during the right season.

This open reefis for experienced divers only and its exploration requires help from local dive guides. The rockitself is surrounded by a fairly shallow area at about 12 meters, ending in a series of drop-offs running down to about 20 meters or more. Beware of the strong currents. Whitetip and Grey Reef sharks can be seen patrolling along the wall.

Not as nice as the other dive sites in the area. But good enough for a 2nd or 3rd dive of the day. Viz can go down to 4m depending on current. No fish around for days if there was dolphins flyby. Occasional sighting of turtles.

Tower Rock is a small rock in the west if the island where you might also see Galapagos sharks, silky sharks, dolphins, yellow fin tuna, big eye jacks, mobula rays, eagle rays, golden cowrays and mantas. From June to October you might even see a whale sharks.

Very exposed and strong current!

This is a world class, but very peaceful dive for advanced divers only. Access to this site depends on weather and current conditions, so check in advance with a local dive centre if you really want to dive this site. 8 miles from the shore a pinnacle rises from below 40 meters to about 16 meters. There are always leopard sharks around, and very often there are mantas.

It's close to the end of the Passage. You will find more than 20 species of nudibranchs, several species of gobies, pipefish and the occasional wobbegong during a single dive.

Off the southern tip of the island there is an underwater ridge which drops sharply to 40m. Depths from 18 - 40m. Visibility 18 - 24m.The sea fans are very large here. There are occasional sightings of leopard sharks at 35m. This site is not visited by many dive companies.
