Visibility: The best visibility is typically May to September
Recommended Equipment: for the majority of the year anything from shorts and rash vest to 3ml shorty is fine. If you do feel the cold or like to be more protected then a 3ml long will be adequate.
Prices: Fun dives start from 1000B each and typically get cheaper the more a diver makes. Gear hire is usually included in this price. An Open Water Course is around 9800B and Advanced Course around 8500B. While Koh Tao is one of the cheaper places to learn to dive be aware that some centres teach and guide in large groups
Seasons: year round however many centres close for the month of November which is typically when monsoon hits.
Water Temperature: Water temperature varies from 27 degrees in November to 30-31 degrees in July / August.
Highlights: March – May and Sept and October are traditionally when we see whalesharks in the most numbers however you can be lucky at anytime of the year.
Currents: Koh Tao has very little current. Only Green Rock, Shark Island and the MV Trident can experience current sometimes.
