ScubaCaribe in Guanacaste in Costa Rica is a PADI 5 Star Dive Center and Water Sports Center which is located on the beautiful an wild looking beach of Riu Hotel, between Hotel Riu Palace and the Hotel Riu Guanacaste. Our dive center provides all of its services for guest staying in both of the hotels.
We offer daily scuba diving trips to the most interesting dive sites in the Papagayo Gulf including unbelievable beautiful Catalina Island and all the spots around the Pelona Islands. All of the dive sites are reachable within a quick 10 minutes boat ride leaving directly from the hotel beach.
All the dive spots in this area are incredibly rich in marine life, making Costa Rica dive paradise, especially in the Pacific region where we are located. The blue waters of Guanacaste coast are supplied with a lot of plankton what is the reason of visibility which may be not as good as in the Caribbean waters. On the other hand plankton makes this region a perfect feeding station for animals whose nutrition is based on plankton’s filtration like giant manta rays and whale sharks.
Everyone can enjoy different sport activities using our new and well maintained equipment. Apart from diving, ScubaCaribe has in the offer unforgettable SNUBA® experience (surface-supplied diving with a long hose supplying air to the person underwater), snorkeling excursions, sunset tours, Jet Ski rentals or Jet Ski tours, Taxi boat to Playas del Coco, and lots of water sport equipment like stand up paddle, kayaks, paddle boat and others.
We are located 15 minutes away by Taxi boat from Playas del Coco, a local village full of craft shops, restaurants and local markets.
Please note that divers who haven’t dived for a long time may be asked to do a Refresh Course.

My husband and I went on the snuba adventure and we had the best time. The instructors were great and the snuba trip was truly amazing! So many creatures, really the best underwater adventure ever. We strongly recommend this fabulous experience.

Hi Hulio Jean Carlo. Just to say a huge thank you for taking me snorkeling while I was staying at Rui Guancaste in March about the 9th it was fantastic I so enjoyed my time there snorkeling and a special thank you to Hulio for being so patient and understanding and for pointing out the Sting Ray and all the other super looking fish. I do hope to get back there before to long and I will come and see you and hopefully go snorkeling again with help. All the Best Yours Digby

I would like to thank the staff at scubacaribe in Guanacaste Costa Rica .. My daughters and I had a wonderful time and a great experience. my girls are ages sixteen and fifteen. We dove with Maureen, and it was an outstanding dive. I was nervous a bit with my two daughters being it was their first time but the dive instructor was great, she was very patient and thorough. I'm so happy we expereinced this on our vacation.

I am a PADI Divemaster with 35 years experience. I dive for pleasure and this was a very pleasurable 2 tank dive. My Divemaster on this trip was named Renee and he was awesome! He knew the sea life well and when they would be at certain locations. There is little coral at Guanacaste but has rich sea life. In the two dives I took we saw white tipped sharks, 5 different species of eel, puffers and abundant sea life. It’s a short trip from RIU Guanacaste. Very enjoyable… 5 stars.. JD DOYLE
