Right, there are no reviews for Divers Club Crete, so here we go with my view. Alison and I are reasonably new divers, with about 20 dives each. I tend just to go for it, Alison has to be more confident before she can relax into her dives. I spoke with the dive centre a few times before we left. I booked 8 dives each, arranged to be collected each morning, and also got a discount of 10% by booking early. On our first day, were were collected as arranged and driven to the dive centre. This is right on the beach, and has a shaded area for clients to relax in. We were fairly quickly kitted out, and all the gear we used was reasonably new. All was well maintained. The guides were fluent in a number of languages, and we were soon geared up, briefed and ready to go. Generally, our dives went well. The centre has two boats, a speedboat and a larger craft. We used both, doing a big step to enter from the big boat, and a backwards roll to get into the water off the speedboat. The guides took very good care of us underwater, and showed us whatever was relevant for each dive site. Sadly, the windy weather compromised the sites we could dive over our four days, and we did go to the same site a number of times. The water is very clear, but the coral and wildlife is quite dull. I'm sure we may have seen more if we had visited more sites, but the weather stopped us doing so. By the end of our holiday, I had done 7 of my 8 dives, and Alison 6 of 8. This was down to us - I had been seasick one day, and Alison had a few confidence problems. The dive team took special care with Alison, and did a special confidence-building dive with her to build up her skills. This totally saved her holiday. When we came to the end of our time with Divers Club Crete, they could have kept all out money, but we agreed that they would refund two of the three unused dives, which is quite fair. So, no complaints. They have competent dive leaders with a multitude of language skills, good equipment and facilities, and a can-do attitude. We loved them!
