Blue Journeys

This PADI 5 Star Dive Centre “Blue Journeys” welcomes you to explore the beautiful, pristine clear warm waters in the still undiscovered Gaafu Alifu Atoll in the Maldives.

Only a few steps away from the white beaches you’ll discover a whole new world of snorkelling or scuba diving. The unspoilt and easily accessible coral reef is no more than 50 m from the shore, unveiling a mesmerising underwater world.

With the seasonal monsoons, the waters in the Huvadhoo atoll are rich with diverse marine life and lucky diving enthusiasts can see a variety of sting rays – Spotted Eagle Rays, Porcupine Rays, Whiptail Stingrays, Marbled Sting Rays, Sharks – Black Tip Sharks, White Tip Sharks, Nurse Sharks, large numbers of green turtles and Hawksbill Turtles. On rare occasions, lucky divers have spotted Ornate Eagle Rays, Guitar Sharks, Whale Sharks, Marlins and Mobulas.

All guests are welcome to collect their snorkelling equipment from the Dive & Activity centre where we can support you in giving snorkelling techniques and tips, conducting snorkelling lessons and provide you more information about the marine life.

Those who would like to discover the exciting art of exploring the underwater world; we offer the PADI “Discover Scuba Diving” course, which introduces you to scuba diving in a highly supervised and relaxed manner. Certified divers joining the dive boat, exploring the untouched reefs will be a thrilling experience as all dive spots are hardly ever seen before with many dive sites still to be discovered.

The dive centre also offers you a unique à la carte diving program if you would like to customise your dive experience. Dive wherever you want, go whenever you want and all this with your private instructor and private boat as an option.

Our resort is set in one of the most untouched and beautiful islands in the southernmost tip of the Maldives. A full Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa experience is not complete unless you have enjoyed some of the local history, been welcomed into a Maldivian home, fished in our tropical waters aboard a Dhoni – our traditional boat - or have dived beneath the turquoise waters to fully appreciate the vast underwater world living around our untouched coral reef.
We don’t offer trips; we provide tailor-made journeys that are nothing less than 100% Pure Maldives.

You could choose to drift to a local island to collect local spices and herbs with the Executive Chef, spend a couple of hours fishing for snapper and grouper onboard the Dhoni to be cooked fresh when you return back to the resort, have a lavish private picnic in a truly remote location on an uninhabited island or set off into the sunset looking for dolphin.
Visit the towering coral reef cities structured like luxury apartments for the kaleidoscopic reef fish. See graceful shoals of fish as they dance in the sunlight and change direction in unison within the blink of an eye. See Clown Fish nestle in the secure fingers of the magnificent anemones or spot the wary lobsters pop their heads out of their rocky homes. Watch the Thick-lipped Wrasse, in all its rainbow glory, enjoy its coral lunches and be amazed by the streamlined grace of the Black and White Tip Reef Sharks keeping a watchful eye over their territory.

The marine life surrounding our island paradise is more abundant and varied than anywhere else in the Maldives – and best of all, it may be enjoyed either close to the surface of our House Reef or deeper down on the fascinating dive sites of this marine haven.
